- 1 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, scallops, crab meat)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups milk
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
- 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 0.25 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 0.125 tsp nutmeg
- 0.5 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add flour and whisk until smooth, cooking for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, Gruyère cheese, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Cook until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
- Gently fold in the mixed seafood.
- Pour the seafood mixture into a greased baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs and parsley. Sprinkle evenly over the seafood mixture.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the gratin is bubbly.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can use any combination of seafood you prefer.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
- Ensure the seafood is cooked through but not overcooked to maintain tenderness.
