Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-baked pie crust
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, combine cherries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and cherries are tender. Remove from heat.
- In a separate bowl, melt chocolate chips with milk until smooth.
- Spread the chocolate mixture evenly over the bottom of the pre-baked pie crust.
- Pour the cherry mixture over the chocolate layer.
- Top with the whipped cream.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a no-bake version, use a pre-made graham cracker crust.
- Garnish with fresh cherries and chocolate shavings.
- Ensure the whipped cream is firm to prevent it from deflating.
